Hi, everyone - lovely and sunny today, following a sharp shower at brekky time, but very cold wind blowing so you don't want to be standing around for long. Even fur-coated ones come home very quickly, demanding admission NOW! Poor Lucy K, she's now sleeping off the hardships and indignities of the morning when I took her to the vet's for her 6-monthly Programme anti-flea injection and a worm pill. It was all over very quickly and vet told her she's a lovely puss but I'm still getting reproachful looks from the depths of an armchair.

After that, I went to the supermarket because we needed some milk and fruit and to get a prescription dispensed. I do try not to go very often because it always takes longer than I think it will and puts me in a foul mood. I shall go and make a mug of tea in a moment and finish calming down. No idea why I hate it so much but I do!

Hope you get over your bug soon, Penny. LK said to send you a bundle of purrs to make you feel better :bighugs: Purrs to windswept doggies being walked in this breeze, too.

Thanks for good wishes Andere, don't know what I picked up, haven't been out since last Thursday. Aching all over now. Funny tho' hubby rang club member we sometime meet for lunch and he has exactly the same. Said he was driving his wife to the station and on the way back started to feel queasy, straight home to bed. Exactly the same as me. Never mind, have to put up with things. Sorry you didn't enjoy your shopping, I used to love it until OH insisted on joining me. Take care, cheers Penny

Meant to say-- whatever bug you have picked up, hope it goes as quick as it came. I'm not very keen of having OH with me when I'm doing the weekly shop either except to carry it. :)

Hi Dita and all. won't rish upsetting doggie and pussies by saying enjoy the weather today so will just send extra big hugs and kisses. So cold and windy. We have a lovely sunny day but that is all. OH upset because paper has note to late arrival at the shop so won't get one delivered here until after 4 p.m. been . At least he has his tablet to play with. Hope everyone is o.k. and not in these dreadful floods. Feel better today altho not 100%. Such aching limbs. Seems to be a thing going round. Nothing special planned now as I wasn't sure how I would feel. Having a Sainsbury's pie. Take care all and do keep warm. cheers Penny

Glad you're a little better, Penny - you're right, there are a lot of strange bugs around. Someone suggested the other day it's because there's been no really cold weather to kill them all but I don't really subscribe to that. After all, it was plenty cold last winter an there were still loads of viruses around.

Definitely no cat and dog-walking today, its utterly vile outside with howling gales and scattered rain. There was a wild hailstorm about 5:30 this morning, I woke up in a panic as it rattled the windows, thinking the glass was breaking ....

OH is at a hospital appointment, trying to find out why some of his blood tests have had funny results, They're suggesting there might be a kidney problem and that could be a result of all the antibiotics he had to have recently or it might be due to his diabetes - although that's pretty well controlled. It's a worry and I'm trying not to let him know how worried I am but just be laid-back and wait and see the way he always does.

I'm a bundle of nerves because I'm taking part in an event for National Story-telling Week tonight. Several local writers are reading our work to an audience in the library - like a poetry evening with stories, if you get me. It's taken me weeks to decide what to read and I've practised so much that I sound like a speaking clock! It's ages since I've done anything like this and, overall, I much prefer radio where nobody can see you! Anyway, OH and a couple of our friends are coming so they've promised to take me away for intravenous gin and a good meal afterwards so I shall concentrate on looking forward to that.

Take care and keep warm, everyone :)

Sounds like fantastic evening coming for you Andere, well done. Hope you enjoy it and take strength from a large gin first. Do hope results for OH prove O.K. we can but hope and pray, specially with Old Father Time rattling his bones. Pleased I am over the sickness feeling but my bones ache so much. Feel like I have been kicked by a horse. Wretched germs, drive me crackers. Do take care and enjoy your evening. cheers Penny.

Thanks for your good wishes, Penny. I just had to post this piece of good news - OH just called from the hospital car park to say everything's OK and nothing to worry about. He'll tell me more when he gets home but I just wanted to share the good tidings. I feel better about everything now,   You take care and try to keep your aching bones warm and snug.

Hi Penny, Andere and all. Just taken doggie for a blow down the road, it is gale force at the moment, and now raining. Doggie really does need those hugs Penny, she will gently cuddle your aching bones in return. Pleased you have good news from Hubby Andere, less for you to worry about, mind you your concentration needs to be on target for your reading session. Have been trying to empty cupboards and wardrobe of clothes I do not wear, how is it so difficult because a little voice in my head keeps repeating ' you may need it one day' consequently it is put back for decades. When the wind gets really bad does it make you grumpy?? Keep smiling Penny :) and keep warm Andere, L Katt and all.

Morning Dita and all, Not a very nice day. More worry again. Hubby had a small op for skin cancer a few months ago. All clear. Saw the Doc today as a small scab appeared so has to start all over again. Waiting for an appointment with the chappie from Stoke Manderville. We seem to be passing worries round this forum. Fingers crossed. Hope everyone is well and doggie gets a little walkies today. Pusses have my consent to curl up all day. Can't say if anyone will enjoy this weather but at least we have no rain at the moment. Big hugs and kisses on the way. Off to do weekly shop and hopefully seeing son today for lunch. One bright spot in my world. Sound a miserable old crab don't I. Never mind, fingers crossed. Take care and keep warm. cheers Penny
