Hi, all -
Yes, Dita. OH gulped down a bacon butty, glugged a mug of coffee and announced that as it wasn't raining, he was off to pub-crawl around Hornsey and district. No rain at the time he left but 5 minutes later it was siling down so he must have got soaked just walking to the station. Men - who can understand them?
The wind has dropped quite a lot in the last hour but it's still quite fierce and the heavy showers alternate with brilliant sunshine. Lucy Katt is just confused and doesn't know whether she wants to be in or out. I don't think I'd want to be on a channel ferry today, either, even though I do love being on the sea when it's a bit rough - this is too much and what happened to the people on that cruise ship last night is terrifying! I hope your son & co have a better trip tomorrow although, if they keep the Dartford Bridge closed, it clogs up most of the south-east eventually.
We need the builder back again as I discovered a new damp patch this morning, only tiny but right underneath the sill of one of the bay windows. OH says he'll get something organised next week. Now, I'm about to go and pump out the cellar again. That's an ongoing thing in periods of prolonged rain and a high ground-water table and we keep a submersible pump in permanent readiness but it does take months of dry weather to dry it out completely so, when we decide to sell this place, it'll probably have to be during a drought! Whenever and wherever we move to, I'm already determined that the new house will
not have a cellar.
Sympathies and hugs to small dogs because of the cold and the mud!
