Don't worry, Monsy; I kept my vest on (and had a liberty-bodice folded up in my bag in case things got really chill!!) The floaty dress stayed in the wardrobe, too. Sorry there wasn't any cake left. It was so scrummy that we ate it all to prevent it going stale :please:
Utterly lovely weather here today but we're both busy catching up on stuff indoors so enjoying it second-hand through the open windows. It's lovely to see a line of clothes drying outside for the first time since last September. Lucy K is in and out and frolicking about. She decided to come and jump on me in the early hours of the morning and I was having weird dreams about being eaten by a tiger but it turned out to be only LK sitting on my head and purring ... I'm exhausted now. Enjoy your trip to the photogenic mill, Penny and I hope some sunshine and warmth helps the shoulder mend quickly. OH has done something to his back but has no idea what - although he does know it prevents him from doing anything useful about the place. Got a leg of pork in the fridge to cook for tonight and it's big enough to feed us for several days. Yummy!

Hi, all - late today, I know. I'm still busy and it's been one of those days for taking two steps forward and one step back.
After the lovely sunny weekend, it turned really cold here with a horrible NE wind making it feel like winter once more. I hung out some bath towels this morning and, when I took them in again in the late afternoon, they were so cold I couldn't tell whether they were dry or not
Today was very special for Lucy K : her Official Birthday - the 10th. We had to supply a DoB for her for the pet insurance and had no idea when she was born because she was a rescue kitten. Based on our vet's best estimate of her age, we opted for 10th March so now, like HMQ, Lucy has an official birthday and is always given specially nice things to eat (Sheba) and gets even more fuss than usual. So what's she done in response? You guessed - she slept all day!
Hope everyone's OK; I'm off to bed now. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Morning Penny, Andere and all. Had to be on the ball today as the painters here early. Happy belated birthday Lucy Katt, official of course. Sun shining and going to enjoy a doggie walk very shortly sending Penny big hugs as we go, think spring has sprung and at least its dry. Bit puzzling about the missing plane, just thinking about all the pain their families are going through as they await news. Keeep chin up Penny :) take care Andere and all.

Phew! Finished work at last and before deadline! Now I'm practically bug-eyed from sitting in front of PC for days on end. Never mind, I'll go out and get some air tomorrow. Lucy K thanks everyone for their good wishes; so far as we can tell, she's enjoying her maturity just as much as she enjoyed single figures but, with a cat, who knows? Purrs to doggie anyway and careful hugs to Penny cos we wouldn't want to hurt your shoulder any more than it already is. Get well soon.
OH is fine but grumpy because I've just been and shouted at him for sleeping in the chair when he was supposed to be emptying the dishwasher and putting stuff away. I'm sure he thinks that, if he leaves it long enough, the kitchen fairy will do it. You know the kitchen fairy? She's related to the ironing fairy and the cleaning-the-washbasin fairy, I believe.
Is your painting finished yet, Dita? Be careful or next time you go out, you won't recognise the place when you come home and drive right past!

Good morning, and I'm sorry I have badly neglected this thread for quite a while. I think it was around half term and I had the pleasure of being in London for a day 'sitting' my grandson. Usually at half-terms and holidays they would be here for a few days, but my daughter was offered extra work and, with their house move in the air, I didn't expect to be visited much these days! I have missed that merry little chap a lot in the past few weeks!

However, 'things' are happening for them at last. They expect to be moving around Easter and asked me to have him for two or three days. Any time I had him before, it was only for one night at a time, so this prospect is wonderful! Their next flat will be only about 200 yards from the present one and even nearer to his school (which he loves, so far) So, what with that good news and the weather being Spring-like, what's not to smile about?

Trixie is enjoying basking on the outside window sills, one sill at a time to enjoy every aspect of being awake in the daytime for a change!! :sunglasses:

Penny, I hope you feel better soon. Dita, poor you with all that upheaval going on. Andere, my kitchen fairy has retired, but I think I should do some catching up with the chores for her!

Morning all, PLEASE where do you get a kitchen fairy. ???. OH doesn't believe in such things. Hope all are well, delighted you are able to spend time with grandson vannin. Lovely time for you. Hope painting is going well Dita, going to look super. Big hugs for doggie walkies today, should be a good one and kisses for pussies who will be able to enjoy the weather. Shoulder very painful, such a nuisance. Have to put up with it I guess, old age creeping on. Off for weekly shop today and hopefully might see son for lunch. Take care Andere, and catch up with some rest. Don't over do it. Fog just lifting now and I think the sun is popping thro'.See we were forecast the driest March for years, I suppose next it will be a water shortage. ha ha. Never ends does it. Take care all and enjoy the day. cheers Penny

Morning Penny, Andere. Vannin. I could do with a kitchen fairy, can you get em off Amazon Andere :) You will be more excited than your Grandson as you prepare for his visit at Easter Vannin, guess he will get lots of easter treats. Dont worry about an absence at times as long as you do pop and see us now and again :) x I do hope your shoulder soon feels easier Penny, hugs from doggie and pussies should help a little, nice sunny walkies today but like you remarked it will not be long before theres a hose pipe ban. We are getting a reprieve from the painters today as the walls dry out ready for the pebble dash, I see they are just up the road working on another house, after living here for 36yrs and our home looking much the same all the time, its more than likely I shall drive past Andere. Keep that pecker :) up Penny and take care all.

Well, I wish that I knew where to find a kitchen fairy, too! And all the other sorts of fairy. I don't believe in fairies but my OH does; he thinks that's who does all those little day-to-day tasks when he doesn't ....

Lovely day today following a damp, dreary, foggy start - beautifully warm with no wind - all the flowers are out and the birds are singing, fabulous; a proper spring at last! Mind you, we made exactly the same comment about a hosepipe ban by Easter if it doesn't rain throughout March! Lucy K has been outside and tried various windowsills but decided inside was better, on a human bed in a patch of sunshine. So-o-o-o-o-o comfortable, these human cat-baskets! I hope the warm sun is helping the shoulder, Penny.

Fingers were tightly crossed here this morning when the mechanic came to take our aged wheels for service and MOT. The MOT was fine but the service has shown up some areas that need attention before we set off on any lengthy journeys. I suppose you just have to expect that ageing cars are a bit like ageing people - they need more maintenance. In a few more years, we'll be able to say we've got a classic car; right now, it's just, well .... old!

Viv, be careful or your grandson won't want to go home and you might find yourself having to arrange babysitters when you want to get on with your life!
Time to go and organise some food - leek soup and cold roast pork with salad because I feel lazy. :)

Morning Dita and all. Lovely day for walkies and hope pussies get to play about today. This machine been playing up again, keep losing posts. Hope everyone is well and keeping warm. Big hugs and kisses on the way. Took water bottle to bed last night and lay with it on my shoulder. Seems a little better this morning but had a dreadful night all told. Keep wondering if it is in any way due to playing with the Huddle sitting in an armchair. Never done it before. Have decided not to use it for a time see what happens. Have a lovely day all and fingers crossed that you will love your revitalised house soon Dita. cheers Penny
