Morning Dita and all, lovely and sunny today, ideal for doggies to walk so big hugs for a fun day. Expect pussies will be out and about for a little too, big kisses on the way. Been rather busy making some marmalade. Third off our fourth lot this year. OH will eat half a jar each morning if I let him. He always tells folk he helps with the making, yes he does, he writes the labels. Went to, make some more bread but cannot find my box of yeast. Must have forgotten to get a new box, very strange. Friends went off about 5.30 pm. Daughter popped round when we were out an left some chocs and card. I keep telling folk not to bother with chocs but to no avail. Hubby says, nice mother's day card and dad's day chocolate, so you can gather who eats them. Hope everyone is well and enjoying this weather, have a lovely weekend and take care. cheers Penny

Morning Penny and all, lovely day here, brought out all and sundry while doggie walking this meant lots of barking going on throughout walkies, your hugs helped muchly Penny and lots of tail wags to prove it. Sure we saw L Katt hiding behind a bush too. My D.I.L brought cards and a box of something which usually turns out to be fudge, if it is I cannot eat the stuff and OH doesn't like it, I do try to get the 'no fudge' message across without being rude or hurtful but.... My other son has fallen out with me, for what reason I have no idea----thats it. Your marmalade must be really good Penny, do you think OH has developed an addiction for it? at least he appreciates your hard work and does eat it, home made is so yummy. I do wish they would come and take this scaffolding away so we can clean the place up a bit it is very messy outside and they have ruined my front garden, grumble-grumble. Anyway keep your pecker up Penny :) and take care all.

Morning Dita and all, Happy Mothers Day. Slept badly due to this time change. How ever, up and running early. Roast Pork for lunch. Calls from daughter and son early. Did two loaves this morning, just cut them into slices for the freezer. Hoping for a quiet afternoon. Hope everyone is well and enjoying the weather. Hugs and kisses sent early as the weather is bright and sunny. Seems we are in for a hot month ahead. That is good news about life on his barge Dita, good for him. OH a bit envious but wouldn't really suit him as there would be no one to order about. Have a lovely day all and take care. cheers Penny

With a bit of luck, after next week, all your cleaning up will be over Dita. :please: :please: :please: :please:

Hi Penny and all, hope you are all having a great Mothers Day. Thank goodness Not Fudge so it was a nice surprise, a box of chocs and a book by Kate Atkinson 'Life After Life' has anyone read it?. Had phone calls so that was lovely. Hubby been trying to tidy things up with the guttering, was hoping they would come and remove the scaffolding yesterday but still waiting, the gutterings are full of tiny pebbles and we have bought new but its hard to attempt the job untill they remove the hazard. The weather was nice and made it an enjoyable walkies along with hugs for you Penny, she also had a game of football.
Gonna prepare a meal now not sure what. Could eat a bit of your pork instead though, save me a job :) Keep your chin up Penny :) and take care all.

Hi Penny and all sun trying to come out and give us a bit of warmth, good doggie walk today think your hugs have something to do with it Penny. Think your hubby could get some good of shots of my hubby should he care to come, he is struggling to replace a bit of guttering despite the fact we are still surrounded by scaffolding, we need to get it done before rain, pics would be good and thankfully no bum crack to be seen :) Guess L Katt having a wander before a snooze. Think your hubby just arrived with his camera, keep your chin up Penny :) and take care all.

Hi, all. Sunshine? There's sunshine out there? Huh! We had loads of it on Saturday when we were busy, having a washing & ironing day until the wretched iron went into meltdown and died in my hand, having welded its soleplate to my trousers :tantrum2: :tantrum2: That resulted in a diverting trip to Currys for a new iron but it will, I hope keep our clothes looking crisp for a good few years now! We heard the forecast for loads more sun on Sunday so we decided to go to Watford for a vintage bus running day. The buses were fun but there wasn't any sun at all, really - overcast and oppressive virtually the whole time; we felt cheated! Anyhow, we wandered home by some circuitous route to avoid the Sunday drivers on the M25 and stopped to eat in an alehouse on the way so it was a pretty pleasant day.

Everything's grey and overcast again today despite a forecast of sunny spells. Everything is covered in fllthy brown grit, too - apparently it's sand from the Sahara, sucked upward by air currents and taken by winds and clouds for a little holiday in southern England. Bet it hasn't even got a tourist visa! :huffin: I was going to hang my sheets outside to dry but decided not as I wouldn't fancy sleeping on them if any of the Sahara stuck to them and got in the folds.

Lucy K has been out much more than usual the past few days so I think she's decided it's officially Spring; she's also moulting like mad all over us, the furniture, the floor and anywhere else she can think of. Delighted it's been so good for dog-walking, LK sends purrs to all.

Monsy, I tried thrusting my hoover at the carpet but it had no effect. It seems that's not enough - you have to plug the darn' thing in and move it about before anything happens ... well, that's what I was told, anyway. :dunno:

Good morning Penny, Andere and all, very low cloud and polution today, doggie wears mask to protect her lungs on walkies so hugs needed Penny. Hubby was busy yesterday putting up fascia and new guttering it looks good, and today as if it were planned the men are here putting up downpipe and other pipes which they had removed to do the walls. See both Monsy and Andere like me tend to be bossed around by that thing which does ones back in while cleaning floors and carpets free of animal hair. Purrs to L K, Keep your powder dry all, and keep your chin up Penny :) and take care all.

Hello everyone - I have been somewhat absent again. No particular reason, except some really uncertain plans for the imminent weekend and having uncertainty in the air makes me too twitchy to concentrate on what I post. My daughter and s-I-l are/were/ due to bring Charlie to me this Friday and pick him up on Tuesday 8th, meanwhile they are flat-moving, to one down the road from where they are. This plan was brought forward from late April, and my excitement has been building. Up to now, any time I had him here without them, it was only one night at a time.

The uncertainty is because he hasn't been well, caught a virus and has had three days off school. This is following a good record of staying clear of bugs ever since going into Reception in September. Remarkable, because the previous two years in nursery, he had terrible winters for infections, like all the children, who pass them on to the grown-ups of course. At this moment, I am not sure but waiting to hear from them , how he is feeling and hoping for the best. We would all be disappointed if he can't have his break here!

Four years ago today,I brought Trixie home from the RSPCA, so it is like her birthday. She was 15 months old, having been born around New Year the previous year. I went in a taxi to fetch her from a town called Chalfont St Giles after falling in love with her photo in the local paper. (The photo which is in the Trixie thread) She cried all the way home - for half an hour, then purred for days. She seems to have been with me for ages and I can't imagine being without! Her kittenhood had been sad, but I will relate that another time.
