Hi, all - a lovely sunny day here, too. Lucy K's been enjoying the late evening sunshine on an outside windowsill but is now indoors and eating supper. We've had a quiet weekend, went to the farm shop as I was running out of fruit and veg and got lots of lovely local rhubarb and asparagus and a great-looking leg of pork to cook later in the week. Then we took the back roads down to Grays for OH to collect some stuff from the deceased relative's house that he's in the process of selling. Everything is so utterly beautiful at present; spring has all come at once - lovely fresh, green young leaves on the trees and blossom everywhere ... I wish you could bottle the sight and the smell of it to take out and enjoy when it's not like this!
Daughter called to say her pressy was delivered this morning so I'm well impressed with the service from Amazon. Hope you enjoy your family's flying visit, Dita - at least you won't be together long enough to get fed up with each other's company!
Have a good week, everyone and enjoy the sunshine :sunglasses:

Hi Dita and all, been having a job staying on this machine today, keeps cutting me off so fingers crossed. Pleased you had such a good day yesterday Andere, I would love to get out more, Dashed out this morning to get petrol and a part for daughters car. A sunny weekend which I think everyone enjoyed. I expect your family have gone now Dita, lets hope it won't belong before they are with you again. Hope doggie enjoys walkies Dita,,sorry to be late with hugs. Also kisses for pussies everywhere, just the right weather for them. My birds are going bonkers for food at the moment, will have to find time to go to Cosco some time this week, just finished 25lb sack of seed and its still not enough. One bird we have christened Oliver sits under the dining room window waiting for me to throw food out and he catches it. Think they will all be hatching eggs soon. Only hope they don't fill my garden with another load of youngsters. Since Thursday apart from seeds.crisps, biscuits and oddments, they have eaten 5 large loaves, lucky I buy the cheapest from Sainsbury. Hope everyone is well and enjoying this weather, take care all. cheers Penny :grouphug:

Hi Penny and all, Yes my visitors have gone the time we spent together went far too fast, I spent most of the time having fun with Fabi I see so little of her and we make the most of it, she changes each time I see her and is rapidly turning into a grown up young lady. It was a beautiful sunny walkies today, enjoyed your hugs too Penny, are you sure L Katt was sleeping Andere? sure we saw her hiding in the bushes. Pleased you had a good weekend Andere. I am sure those eggs when hatched will soon find there way to your kitchen window Penny, wow that is quite an amount of seed they get through, could soon be doubled :) I like the sound of Oliver. Feeling very tired now after the last few hours, surprising how even enjoying such a short while takes much out of you when not used to such mental activity. May have an early night or more like will drop asleep earlier while watching tv. Keep smiling Penny :) and take care all.

Hi, all - another lovely bright but quite cold day. Lucy K tried Out for a while but is now inside and dozing in a patch of sunshine on my bed. OH is currently at the physio clinic; he'll probably be rebuked for not doing his exercises enough times. It must be really depressing, being a physiotherapist, because nobody ever does what they're told and then complains they're not getting any better.
We spent his birthday very quietly and just went out for an Italian meal together last night. That was all a bit depressing because we went to a restaurant we've been to several times before and enjoyed but last night was pretty dire: all that was missing was Julie Walters tipping the soup out of the plates..... OH found a piece of plastic in his minestrone, his pizza was cold ... we couldn't wait to get out in the end! Tonight, he's out with his friends for a pub celebration and I've promised I'll buy him a decent pizza somewhere else very soon!
We've decided to make a flying visit to Lincoln at the weekend for the Vintage Vehicle Society open day and stay overnight because I've realised that I've got enough Accor loyalty points to pay the hotel bill. Hoping the weather stays fine now - fingers crossed.
Hope all is well with everyone and dog walkies have been good?

Hi Penny, Andere and all. Hope you got a good supply of bird food, dont forget those babies will be pestering you soon Penny hee hee. What a disaster your meal turned out to be Andere, we do not go out eating much these days and you have now put me off even more. L Katt napping when she should be out sunning?? We had a nice doggie walkies with the help of Pennys hugs, also had a game of football in the garden where I noticed the weeds are thriving, must get down to some serious gardening. Anyway hope you have enjoyed the sunshine to keep you smiling Penny :) and take care Andere and all.

Hi, all - another lovely sunny and breezy day. All the bedding's been washed, dried outside, ironed and put away so I'm feeling quite smug. The physio was happy with OH's progress yesterday, told him to keep up the exercises but has signed him off so he doesn't need to go back. Tonight, he's out on a Camra pub crawl around Hackney and Clapton. The good thing about those is that they spend more time yomping between all the pubs than they do drinking so I'm not too concerned about how inebriated he'll be at closing time. :downhatch:
I'd better not let Lucy K anywhere near Penny's place; she'll think all those birdies are breakfast! Sad, but it's nature. Purrs to dogs and hugs to all; I'm off to make some cheese-on-toast and chill out with a good book on my Kindle. :)

Morning Penny and all, it only seems five minutes since your last shop. We are almost back to normal, there is some more guttering we want to replace and we are pricing up the job because it is much to high for OH to accomplish himself. I am having an hours peace at the minute because hubby has taken the car for a service, it is lovely. I have some good books on my kindle Andere never seem to read them due to other stuff that crops up to do just when I decide to have a read. Very dull out doggie walking,if we send hugs Penny will you send the sun back for Dolly and L Katt.
Keep your chin up Penny:) and take care all.

Morning Dita and all, hugs and kisses on their way. Tried to make sure doggie has a nice walk in good weather today. Hope everyone has the same sunshine as we have this morning. Been busy bread making, our young chap phoned to say he was coming a bit later today. Always welcome, he does such a good job. Pity he is not nearer to you Dita. You would love him, in the nicest way of course. ha ha. Would you believe, hadto laugh, usual servants role yesterday evening, did hubby a nice Easter bun along with a choc éclair for a treat. Cut the bun and put in butter and his favourite jam, blackcurrant. After tea, went to clear away and he rose and found blackcurrant jam on the seating of his chair. He turned to me and said, now look what you have done, don't every put jam in my bun again. I was gobsmacked. I did say, don't blame me for what you have done and he insisted it was all my fault for putting jam in the bun. Had to go in the kitchen to stop either laughing my head off or cutting his off. All quiet this morning, no comments as yet. I keep smiling to myself. Have a lovely day and enjoy it whilst you can. cheers Penny :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Oh, Penny ... If that was me, I think I just might be busy shoving buns somewhere the sun don't shine - without any jam to lubricate them!!
It's flaming cold here today and the sun went behind a cloud about 10am and hasn't been seen since. Lucy K took a brief stroll around her boundaries early on and has been curled up on my bed ever since. I'm tempted to join her.
The man from Ocado brought my groceries this morning, including one of their lovely veg boxes. The red peppers are so big that I'm worried they might be alien mutant vegetables, just waiting to burst out of the fridge and take over the world ...
Now, I'm just wondering what to pack to take to Lincoln tomorrow. We'll only be away a little over 24 hours but the forecast is horrible and we'll be outside for much of the time so I'll end up taking an entire wardrobe full of layers. Oh, I do wish I lived somewhere you could predict the weather accurately and where it would always be warm in springtime....
Enjoy the first holiday weekend of the year, everyone and may you all get at least some spring sunshine.

Will keep fingers crossed Andere, think best thing is to take enough warm clothes, you can always strip off if too much. Just checked the weather for Lincoln, varying between10 and ll degrees on Saturday, Sunny after 12 midday. Then Rain on Sunday. Have a lovely time. Did this check on my kindle, do you check yours? cheers Penny. :grouphug:
