Hi Penny and all, hugs were here well in time for doggie walk today, its overcast and chilly. I know what you mean about not been able to get a good sleep at night you get up feeling exhausted because of it, hope you do what you say and have an easy afternoon and hopefully you'll sleep better tonight. I had a shock yesterday, one of my real friends is in hospital after having a heart attack, just had a text from her saying she is on the coronary ward awaiting a scan, think it was a mild attack thankfully. My friends do seem to be dwindling somewhat. Purrs for pussies. Keep that chin up Penny :) and take care all.

Popping into Cosco today, just to top up and get some bread for the birds. Eating me out of house and home at the minute. Not only sitting looking in the kitchen they sit by the conservatory door waiting for me to go out with a boxful of seed and bits for their breakfast. Hope pusses will be out and about today. Hello, all. After a grey and dank start, it's turned into a lovely day. I washed a couple of OH's winter jackets and have hung them out to dry in the sunshine. It should be good dog-walk weather, anyway. Dita, I hope your friend makes a good and speedy recovery.
I'm back from having a blood test - doc ordered a 'fasting' one so I hadn't eaten anything for 12 hours then there was a great long queue of people waiting to have samples taken so I had to wait nearly an hour with my belly rumbling. So far as I know, there's nowt wrong with me but they have to do these tests every now and then to make sure the pills they prescribe aren't killing people! Decided it wasn't worth having brekky when I got home 'cos it's nearly lunch time. :please: :please:
The magic mechanic seems to have done his stuff, anyway - the car heater's performing well now and I was very grateful for it first thing.
I was just reading a magazine article about how to sleep better, Penny, and it recommends plenty of carbohydrates at supper time, especially rice plus something I didn't know - that traditional mug of hot chocolate at bedtime may not be such a great idea because chocolate has quite a high caffeine content ..... Hope you get some decent zzzzzzzz in tonight, anyway. It's horrid when you can't sleep properly.
I'm off to get a sandwich now, then I'm going to spend the afternoon with a friend doing a little light tea-drinking and gossiping. :)

Hi Penny, Andere and all, it was misty and dull but sun now trying to peep through, lovely hugs on doggie walk Penny, sure L Katt was lurking about behind the bushes too, probably looking for a treat before heading back to yours Andere. Thanks for the wishes for my friend she is on the coronary unit having test. Pleased to hear your car heater is now working properly. I have those fasting blood tests, as you say it has to be done when on certain medications. Penny those birdies are waiting for their dindins, hope you got shares in Cosco, they will be on the up because of your shop, anyway keep that smile going Penny :) and take care Andere and all.

Morning Dita and all, extra hugs and kisses for such an awful morning, got soaked twice, once feeding my lot and next giving cuddles to two great bull mastiffs. They belong to a lady in the village and it seems they pull her into our drive if they see the garage door open. Beautiful creatures but so big. Off to Sainsury for the usual and then lunch with son. Watch out for enormous price cuts at Morrisons. Doing a 60% reduction to fight Lidl and rest. Take care a enjoy 1sr May. Cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all, not rained yet but sure its on its way, hugs came well in time for dry doggie walks today. I heard about Morrisons having massive price cuts, we do not visit there very often but may have a trip to have a nose round and hopefully pick up a few bargains. We shall probably have a trip to Sainsburys tomorrow for some bits and bobs-I love their lemon drizzle cake :) Hope you enjoy a natter with your son and eat a hearty lunch + buy a few bargains too. Purrs for pussy cats, keep your chin up Penny :) and take care all. Sounds like that doggie is trying to get round you for a treat cos he's jealous of you feeding your birdies Penny xx

Good morrow and a hey-nonny-nonny to one and all! I trust everyone's enjoyed a hop. skip and a caper around the maypole in your wellies?? Yeuk! It's utterly vile here and has been most of the day. We did get a brief dry interlude around lunchtime which was good as I was going to the hairdressers and was able to get out again, go for a quick pub lunch with OH and get home without my nice new haircut getting soaked. Five minutes after we came indoors, it was like someone in the clouds turned a tap on and it hasn't eased at all in the past two hours. Wonder if there's any chance of decent weather for the weekend?
LK doesn't care - she's spent the entire day curled up in a chair but, if asked, would probably send sympathetic purrs to dogs and anyone else unfortunate enough to be outside.Hugs to all and fingers crossed for some proper spring weather soon.

Morning Dita and all, V.E.Day is the one Dita. Some years before of course. Son dealt with it early because he is so busy for next couple of weeks doing a course on the lake with his boat, teaching water skiing and such to youngsters. His own have passed their exams for surfing etc. Hope kisses and lots of hugs arrived o.k. Have been busy baking as usual, young lad phoned to say will be here this afternoon to tidy up lawns etc. so preparing his loaf and one for DIL. OH got his appointment for next Wed. at 9 a.m. Hope everyone is o.k.and enjoying better weather. Have arranged fine weather for weekend. Take care all. cheers Penny

Thanks, Penny - your arrangements are just about working. It's cold and very grey but it's DRY!! What a nice son you have - hope you really enjoy the show. Lucy K is in her accustomed position on my duvet, guarding the pile of clean clothes I left folded up for OH to put away. She's very considerate and never sleeps on a pile of clean laundry, unlike her predecessor who liked nothing better than sleeping among the clean washing, even curling up in among damp clothes waiting for the dryer on occasion!
We've had a very noisy morning while a bunch of council contractors installed a new speed hump outside next door. They've just about finished now, thank goodness, my brains were beginning to rattle with all the racket. I'd love to go out in the dead of night and demolish the wretched thing - nobody wanted or needed it; nobody ever speeds down this road because it's too narrow and crowded with parked cars but the bliddy council had some money (our money :tantrum2: ) to waste so they inflicted it upon us despite OH and me pleading with them not to. Nobody'll be able to sleep in the summer with windows open as cars slow down to a crawl to bounce over it but, as usual, nobody else could be bothered to protest. Hummmmph! I'm starting the weekend in a ratty frame of mind now .... think I'll go and make some lunch and see if raising my blood glucose improves my mood.
Hugs for dog-walks and have a good weekend, whatever you're all doing.

I can sympathise with you about the bumps. Because of a neck problem, when we go shopping have to wear my collar and hold on to a rail so that I am not getting continual jerks. The number of times I end up with double vision due to these wretched things. As you say, usually put where they are least needed. Do hope you continue to get good weather, I did have a good talk with the old chap and told him how fed up we were with the winter. Love to give puss a cuddle. Take care. cheers Penny

Hi Penny, Andere and all. I know and remember when that was Penny, my Dad would never forgive me if I didn't. Despite a dull morning had a sunny doggie walk around lunch time, sure its because of the wishes and hugs you send, big tail wags to you and to Andere too. Sympathise with you over them blooming humps, Andere at least we dont have them in our tiny village, but they must be a noisy nightmare for you having to suffer because of them. I do hope you have a great evening tonight Penny, I will be thinking of you as Andere says your son sounds lovely. My son was a canoeing instructer while in the army. Been one of those all hell and no notion days but quite honestly no idea what I have done. Keep smiling Penny :) enjoy tonight, and take care Andere and all. + purrs to L Katt xx
