Hi Penny, Andere and all, been too wet for doggie walk today so holding on to them hugs till it drys up Penny, do hope you manage a nice shop, lunch and catch up with your son, hope he secures some nice weather while in Dorset. I wouldn't mind coming back as a cat, just as long as I live in a nice spoilt cat home like L Katt lives in. I was up and around at 4.30am still below par, not leg aches, could be Statins they have the reputation for causing muscle pain.
Have you voted today? Keep your chin up Penny :) I will be thinking of you on the moro, and take care all.

Raining again! Absolutely belting down right now; I'm so glad I don't have to be anywhere else! I enjoyed lying in bed last night being soothed to sleep by the sound of the steadily falling rain - I like the safe feeling of being tucked up under my duvet while the world gets wet. Guess I'm just a big kid at heart ..... sorry about the dog walks, though.

Yes, I've been to vote. OH and I strolled to the polling station as a pre-lunch constitutional. There were quite a few people there, too, despite all the predictions of a low turnout.

Get well soon, Dita and hope all's well tomorrow, Penny. :grouphug:

Thanks Andere. We started off for the shop at 12.45, nice and sunny, hadn't gone100 yards and it started to rain, said to OH looks like we will get a drop, then the heavens opened and it was so heavy could hardly see the road. Thunder and lightening and then hail stones. Kept on until 3 p.m. Hope all o.k. take care Dita and Andere, not many of us left now. cheers Penny

Morning Dita and all, hope hugs and kisses arrived to be of help. Been trying for over an hour to log in, keep getting cut off. Hope everyone is well. Out for lunch today, OH 21 plus. Had to laugh, it's not just me. My son sent a large birthcard with Dad written across the top in big letters. Below was a chappie full length asleep on a settee, papers across his knees. Underneath, ' it said' Dad was an expert at watching Television with his eyes closed. I thought was super but did not comment. ha ha.
Do hope everyone is well and you are on the road to recovery Dita. OH has Hayfever at the moment so lying in the lounge. Asked him if he wanted to go out and he said yes. so we go shortly. Put bread in ready for chappie this evening. Take care all. cheers Penny
Do hope you are feeling a lot better Dita.

Hi, all and I hope you're having a good Sunday and that Dita's infection is clearing up. Where do you keep getting these things? (Yeah, I suppose if you knew that, you'd stop going there!)

Unlike some people suspect, I haven't been under the duvet for the last 3 days  , just busy and kept getting sidetracked from my PC. Friday was a lovely, sunny day which was good as we were invited to the official opening of the newly renovated and replanted Avenue of Remembrance and Home Front Garden at Wickford. The reasons for the invitation are a little complicated but it was a real privilege to be there with OH and a friend from the Transport Trust as the Lord Lieutenant of Essex in all his ceremonial kit did the honours. I'd hoped he was going to use his ceremonial sword to cut a ribbon (!) but, alas, he merely lifted a flag from a plaque. Afterwards, there was a buffet lunch and drinks in the British Legion bar so we came away feeling very well-stuffed.

Stayed at home yesterday and did loads of laundry and made a cauldron of vegetable soup because the weather was foul, hardly stopped raining for more than 10 minutes together. Today, the local Green Fair is on in the park and that's sometimes fun to go to and they have good bands playing through the day. The ground is going to be so boggy, though - no fun sitting on the grass to listen to the music or even walking in the mud so we probably won't bother this time. Instead, I'll sit here and try to plan a route for our holiday in N France and book some hotels.

Lucy K sends best wishes for dog-walks. She's quite frisky at the moment but keeps demanding to be dried off after she's been out in the long, wet grass. Happy birthday to Penny's OH. (I thought that business of watching TV with the eyes closed was a skill all men acquire somewhere around their 45th birthday? )

Hi Penny, Andere and all, I too have found it a bit tricky getting on today. Thought your sons card seemed very apt from your description Penny hee hee. Sorry about the hayfever but hope it not stop him eating his birfday cake. Ok doggie walkie there was hugs among the sunbeams and sure L Katt was around somewhere along the way could feel her eyes. You sure have had a busy time Andere you made me exhausted reading about it. Me still struggling a bit but still smiling Penny :) and take care Andere and all

Morning Dita and all, hope you are feeling a little better Dita, full of aches and pains this morning. Must be the weather. Been changing all the bed linen this morning, was going to make some marmalade but don't know If I can get there yet. Birds looking so wet, and every time I go near the kitchen they gather in the rear garden. So many and now some jackdaws have joined the queue. One thing always cheers me up is first thing, I open the dining room window and throw a few bits out, straight into the mouths of several waiting. The can see me in the kitchen at the sink and as soon as I move they go to the lounge window. think I will have to claim benefits soon, apart from two large loaves a day and a box of seeds daily, they have biscuits, cake and any leftovers etc. Think I will have to put up a sign, no more boarders. Ha ha Dotake care all, hope hugs and kisses helped today Dita and Andere. We can but hope. cheers Penny.

I'll write properly soon, including how my knee packed up for a bit, but for the moment, can't resist picking up on Andere saying 'that business of men watching TV with the eyes closed.' Mine used to hotly defend (if I ever mentioned it) by insisting 'I was THINKING'. Certainly from age 45, if not before. I used to leave The Thinker to it and go up to bed.

Hi all, Viv, seems most men are the same. Your remark about thinking had me in fits. Over at my sons one day for a gathering of families lunch,. OH said to someone, I was just thinking, and I butted in and said ' did it hurt' My granddaughter fell from her chair laughing and ever since, we just have to hide our faces when anyone says that now. How is your knee now, what exactly did you do. Take care. cheers Penny :grouphug: :roflmao:

Forgot to add,I made 9 jars of marmalade after all, could not just sit about today. OH already doing that. cheers Penny :roflmao:

Hi Penny and all. Good to see you Viv hope your knee less painful, it was the phrase 'thinking with eyes closed' that reminded me of my grandparents. Penny you are a glutten for punishment 9 jars marmalade AND feeding the 5 thousand birdies! Had short doggie walkies between showers, was a bit of a struggle helped by your hugs Penny. Watched that Quirke thingy this afternoon on tape, was fedup of turning the flipping volume up and down, last night we watched the soap awards instead which mainly consisted of awards for Hayley & Roy? was not too happy with either programme. Thats my moan for the day, anyway keep your pecker up Penny :) and take care Viv and all.
