Hi Dita and all, well problem explained but not sorted yet. Something to do with Wy Fi ???. Since posting earlier, I now, cannot post on my Huddle. OH had the cheek to say I am a problem. I nearly clocked him one. Will have to keep fingers crossed that son can sort him out again when he has time. Take care all. Meanwhile, if you see a fellow shooting thro' the air in shorts, ignore him,. I will have kicked him out. ha ha. cheers Penny

Morning Dita and all, hopefully I will get thro' today. OH had a call from the telephone people but I don't think it is quite sorted yet, if I use this, My huddle is useless. Thought I would get hugs and kisses off first and let the rest of the day sort itself out. Do hope all are well and getting plenty of rest, necessary in this hot weather. Had a bit of a clear out in my wardrobe yesterday, got two large bags to take to the charity shop later. Anyone like me, I hate getting rid, specially as clothes are all in good nick. Well, here goes, going to press enter and hope for the best. Take care all. cheers Penny Hooray, made it. :grouphug:

Good morning everyone.
The firefighters are due back here today or tomorrow. No fire involved but they bring the engine.

About four years ago, I was on a list to have two smoke alarms installed free. One evening, they phoned when on on their way, not only in the engine but in their smart uniforms, two men and a girl.

The one who did the installing was about 6ft 5ins and had no need to climb! All has been fine until last week when the alarm in the hall fell down and now needs replacing. (No, I didn't give it a nudge, only dusting!)

Hi Penny, Vannin and all. Oh! dear Penny how irritating, not only do you have Wfi problems but wearing shorts' he flew through the air with the greatest of ease' problems as well :) :roflmao: hope it not long before all sorted for once and for all. Think it you who needs a hug :bighugs: today, quite a nice day for doggie walk, but may have to nip off for petrol later and a browse round Tesco and I'm not so keen on that, still have a cough and wheeze which gets me at times. Vannin lucky you having a visit from handsome tall firemen without suffering the results of a fire, bet you dusted that smoke alarm down on purpose. :roflmao: Dear Penny keep on smiling :sunglasses: and take care all.

Well, at least it didn't bring the ceiling with it as happened to a relative of mine!

Hope all are well and coping with the hay-fever? We're still waiting for a decent rain storm to damp everything down. It keeps threatening but nothing happens. LK is still taking life very easy; wish I could join her, just dozing in the sunshine :sunglasses:

Y'all better look out for a second flying shorts-clad spouse! Mine is distinctly out of favour today, having informed me at bedtime last night that he'd be out most of today as he's going to a 'coffee morning'. In practice, this means he and his assortment of weird political cronies go to a meeting and swill down a cup of revolting instant coffee then hastily adjourn to the pub across the road to wash the taste away and put the world to rights until about 4pm. Some coffee morning! He's just wandered in now and wonders why I'm not in any mood to put down what I'm doing and listen to him rambling on about nothing in particular. Lemme just find my big boots and get him cleared for take-off  .

All sorted now, within five minutes. I only phoned them this morning! Again, one of them was very tall, but he supervised while the other man stood on his toolbox to install new smoke alarm. No girl firefighter this time. Continuing the 'nothing like a...' ! Short-sleeved crisp white shirts always catch the eye. I think the engine was parked on the corner. :rolleye11:

Not only that, but this evening the police were making door-to-door enquiries. The man who lives nearly opposite had his motorbike stolen. I had not seen or heard anything and am dismayed that the annual (as it seems to be) spate of neighbourhood crime, is with us. 2010 was my year for attempted break-ins, causing my rush to get the intruder alarm installed - quite a rip-off at £770 plus £90 a year in advance for 'maintenance'.

Went to my Keep-Fit in the early afternoon - quite a hot hour although we were fairly sedate.

Then this evening, my regular inspection of Trixie found the dreaded signs of the (mite) nasties beside one ear. :( She was due for the monthly Stronghold spot-on which is anti-several things, and may slow the course of this 'for the moment', so I will gauge when a vet-visit should be made - the first of a few visits, which she hates. I quickly administered the Stronghold anyway, and now she is deeply offended. I was subjected to a long staring-out by eyes expressing 'How COULD you?
Far too much for one day - the firefighters were the best part! :sunglasses:

Just after I posted that, she came to my lap for a half-hour cuddle before my bedtime and her wandering-time. They don't bear grudges!

Ooh, yes! They make even the most unprepossessing specimen worth a second glance! ... even OH in his manky shorts looks better with a decent white shirt (but don't tell him I said so). His butt's still hurting from my boot  but he's gone off to do a few errands and get a blood test before the mechanic comes to replace part of the car's thermostat so it won't break down again while we're away. He's now got a sniffling, coughing wretched cold, so I can see we're in for a really good time! I suggested we just cancel now but he won't hear of it.

Poor little Trixie! but I'm pleased she's forgiven you sufficiently to have a cuddle and the weather forecast for the next few days isn't great so she may get off lightly for the moment, at least.

Hope dog-walkies is pleasant today and all the internet problems get sorted. Hugs and purrs to all. :sunglasses:

Hi Penny, Vannin, Andere, What with the Firemen, O H's shorty shorts and white crisp shirts it is an interesting read today. Sorry you still got internet issues Penny do wish they would sort it for good, all this talk about faster fibre optic broad band seems a long way off because for some of us still have trouble being connected at all. Poor little Trixie Vannin, do hope she doesn't have to suffer like she did last year. Maybe your OH got a horrible cold for having bare legs Andere or maybe the 60mph speed that cooled down his nether regions as he sped through the air :roflmao: hope he soon recovers though. Lovely day for doggie walk today sure her little feet are bouncing much easier after the drama of claw cutting, think its time for a squirt with the Advocate to avoid the worms and fleas too. What a farce this Andy Coulson phone hacking thing has turned out to be  I love watching the Woodpeckers too Penny we see more of the Greater and Lesser Spotted ones they are bringing their young to feed at the moment, the Green ones seem more cautious for some reason.
Keep that pecker up Penny :please: and take care all out there, including pampered L Katt & Trixie :bighugs:

Hi Penny and all, you are not around Penny do hope you are not having problems again. My doggie needed hug because I went to our local pet shop this morning and was enthralled at a Racoon which had recently become a pet of the shop owner, I was thrilled when she put it on the counter for me to stroke and make a fuss of, it is just a youngster and was happy to be petted, Dolly was very curious about the strange smell on my hands. What a time to forget my phone, could have got a pic. Gonna watch a bit of tennis and will pop back later Penny, hope you ok :) and all.

Hi Dita and all. Still problems. Had lunch with son and he is coming to fix it asap. Seems OH and post office got their lines crossed..something they told him to do undid the proper connections. And mixed all up. I give up. Wish i could have cuddled the racoon.. No wonder doggie is jealous. Now for a laugh. Rang surgery re results and to make appointment. Seems results were.. Impovement made, nothing suggested. I explained dr said, get the results then see me. Asked for appointment. Guess when. 29 th July. I said, you must be joking.no joke. So I said, tell dr. I have the result, if she wants to make any changes she can ring me. Left it at that. Would you believe it. Over a monh to wait, as I said, I coud be six feet under by then. Take care and I will try to keep a smile on my face. Cheers Penny
