Hi, all - mostly fine today but perishin' cold in the wind. Cold enough for a walking stick as my old pa used to say! I've been and had my flu vaccination and now my arm aches like mad; he said if I go back next week, he'll do a pneumonia one as well (needs to order it so couldn't do it today). I also got my hair cut and had a gossipy lunch with a friend, did some shopping and now OH, not wishing to be outdone in the hair department has just gone off to get his buzz-cut tidied up. This will no doubt require the consumption of alcohol afterwards to get over the shock ....
Love and hugs to all.

Hi, all and another cold, dank day to depress us after all the lovely ones we've had :( It really is more like January than October out there at present so I'm staying in.
Not much going on here. National Grid are digging up the other side of our road yet again. No idea why but they keep coming back and digging another wretched hole. They've currently stopped for lunch and it's possible to hear yourself think for a blessed hour. I finally put the last batch of apples in the freezer before I went to bed last night. Now there's absolutely no room for anything else!
Hope everyone's OK and Penny's pains are improving. Keep warm and keep smiling.

Hi Penny and all, do hope you are ok and not having more pain with your back Penny, if you are----however did it happen??? I'm late because had to go out earlier we then rushed back and I cooked a couple of chicken breasts in bacon for lunch and that's about it. So bitterly cold out it is quite a shock to the system, do find I do feel more chilly these days and wonder if its just an oldie thing or is it because I have very little flesh on my bones, yuk!
Hope you not having connection problems again either Penny, anyway keep smiling :) and take care Andere, LK and all xx

Hi Dita and all. did try earlier but got interrupted. back still painful but after phone call from young chappie had to make some bread, hence the delay in posting. Thought we might have rain and he would not make it but he is determined. The off for shop and lunch with son. All in a hurry. His cold is better but having trouble hearing one side. So, He has to visit Doc when he can spare the time. I hope everyone is well and keeping warm. Gone very dull here but so far, it is staying dry. Take care. cheers Penny U

Hi Dita and all. Been trying so long almost gave up. My posts keep vanishing. Had a rough night booked to see Dr next Friday. Young chappie came and did some work. Says he is coming for all day next week so that means I will have to provide lunch. There is a chance OH will be lunching with his workmates how about joining us. ha ha. Hugs and kisses all round before I forget. Hope everyone is O.K. and keeping warm. Puss still arrives at six each evening. I am trying to keep out of sight. Take care all. Fingers crossed this post survives. cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all, I will be waving to your son as he cheers hopefully for Wales, hope he sees me this time, my OH thinks I am crackers because he wonders how I know what your son looks like and of course I kid him on all the time Hee Hee. There is no way you will be sitting there watching while your young man and I do all the work Penny so do not even think about it Grrr! Its a dull cloudy day here despite seeing a little sunshine earlier. Bought a couple of Chicken En Croute from Asda's the other day, we just ate them for lunch and found them tasty, we often try some of their fresh meals and find them good quality.
Hope you rest that back today, Dolly says hello and wonders how your pussy cat friend is ?? keep your chin up Penny :) and take care all xx

Good match yesterday but pity about Wales, they did play well. Don.t forget to watch today, not sure what time. Looking out it is so miserable and dark. Must expect it in October. Take care. hugs and kisses for little ones. Hope everyone else is O.K. cheers Penny

Hi, everyone - it's a funny day here, weatherwise, I mean. One moment bright and warm, the next grey and moody as if it might snow but, at least, that vicious little wind we've had for days has dropped so it feels much nicer. Like Penny, I'm not going anywhere today, just ticking over at home and doing a few things that need doing - unless I decide to simply curl up with my Kindle instead! OH was out all day yesterday on one of his CAMRA pub crawls so I was able to get all sorts of things done in peace and quiet. I think there was more walking than drinking involved as he came home seeming very sober but totally banjaxed and went to bed early! He's just going out to check on car tyre pressures, fluid levels etc as we plan to take the new wheels on their first long trip later this week, to Shropshire. LK is being very affectionate; perhaps she's trying to persuade me not to take her to the cattery? She doesn't understand that the alternative would be to stay here alone with no ever-ready purrson on hand to feed her on demand! Hope everyone here is well - humans and four-legged ones.
