Yes, a sad result at Millennium Stadium. Of course I always shout for Ireland and I believe several of my cousins were over for the match. Well played though Ireland, missing some of the best players out injured. Congratulations to Argentina.

Finally made it in. What a sad ending for Scotland. Could not believe it was decided by 1 point. I could have wept. All played so well. I think those who get to kick the ball between the posts are fantastic. Feel like weeping when they miss. Such a long shot. Take care all. cheers Penny

Second time trying to post. Seems there is a problem over the result yesterday Dita. In the papers today, saying ref got it wrong. Would love it if there was a replay. Hope all are well and weather not too bad. Rather dull here. Hugs and kisses for little ones. Just given OH a hair cut and prepared lunch. Am hoping to have an easy afternoon.????? Take care all and keep warm. cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all, pleased you did manage to post after all Penny been thinking we could start some sort of petition and get a replay, would maybe get that ref in trouble but who cares? I don't :) . Funny that our steel industry is going down the drain despite us producing the finest steel in the world, even funnier that we are buying cheap iron ore and stuff from China and doing business with them to build nuclear power stations. Thing similar happened to our Coal Industry ?????? Hope you are feeling better, we got sunshine here just now, keep your chin up :) and take care all.

Hi Dita and all. Had a little sunshine early evening but only for a fleeting moment. We keep going over the Match. Can.t see what can be done now. As OH says if it is replayed and Scotland were to really lose, it would be worse than ever. Think it ought to be declared a draw then a replay would be fair. Have to wait and see. Can't see it happening my self . Hope you are feeling O.K. bit low myself, weather doesn' t help does it. Take care. cheers Penny

Hope Andere is enjoying her ride. How is your friendship going vannin.???Not being nosy, just hope all news is good this week. Take care all and have a good day. cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all, we got lovely sunny day here, was just logged in earlier and before I got chance to post had to log off again, remember a friend in the village lost her hubby Rob very suddenly earlier in the year and I mentioned them on here when it happened, well! she came around this morning to introduce me to her new Granddaughter Lacey, she says the little girl is helping her as she struggles over the death of her hubby. Hard to think how difficult it can be for women when they lose a partner suddenly without a warning, Rob ran his own car repair business and collected old British motor cycles, he also owned another 2 houses in the village besides his own and did all his house repairs, improvements himself so that is what Linda has been left to sort out.
Hope you have had a successful Costco trip, did you buy some more cat food as well as bird seed???. Makes me feel extra sorry for Scotland knowing really that penalty should not have been allowed, it can never be really righted now :( . Keep smiling Penny regardless :) and take care all xx

Just back from Costco. Only picked up bird seed, got plenty of catfood already. Place was sky high with stuff for Xmas. The number of cookbooks and similar is unbelievable and toys for children are bigger than a tall man. Just gave up and came home. Hope all are well and enjoying the sunshine. Take care all. cheers Penny

Hi, everyone. It's turned into a lovely sunny afternoon now I'm inside doing the laundry and various indoor things. Isn't that just typical? While I was out this morning, it was all grey and moody and 'orrible.
Hope all are well and furry companions all bright-eyed and bushy tailed? We know now that winter is officially approaching because LK has taken to sleeping in her own bed again for the first time since March or April!
Yesterday, we went to the Museum of London with a friend to see the new "Crime" exhibition, featuring all sorts of exhibits from the police Black Museum, including hangman's ropes, murder weapons, burglars' equipment and all sorts of other stuff. I read a newspaper review last week which said it was really grisly and not for the faint hearted but it wasn't, not really. To be honest, I got a bit bored with it because there was just too much emphasis on murder with endless details of individual cases over a century or so. Much more interesting to me were the sections about forgery and counterfeiting and espionage. I would have loved to see a section about cyber crime, too but I realise that'd probably be difficult to do without giving away too much information about how they track and solve such crimes....
Not much else to report, just trying to make sure all the clothes we want to take away with us are clean and ironed and trying to be creative with the contents of the fridge so nothing gets wasted.

PS: Just read Penny's post re Costco. The gift-shop at the museum yesterday was all piled high with glittery, sparkly rubbish. I can't think why putting the stuff on display in October is supposed to make you want to buy it. It just makes me want to go and live on the dark side of the moon or anywhere else where it doesn't happen!

Greetings, everyone. Just time for a quick visit before I go and put the bins out ready for morning. Just finished packing for our trip - don't know how many layers we might need so the cases are stuffed full! It's just stopped raining for the first time all day but it feels a lot colder, too. LK is now at the cattery where they had her bed ready and waiting with a heated pad to keep it warm, Aaaah! Isn't that nice? She doesn't get that sort of treatment at home - but then she knows she can always snuggle under the duvet on our electric blanket if the fancy takes her.

OH got summoned to the GP surgery this morning and was told sternly that he must stop taking his diuretics immediately as the blood test he had last week shows very low sodium levels. That's fine but (men are SO dozy) he forgot to ask what happens if he starts accumulating fluid and can't eat or breathe properly as happened last year. He just gawped at me when I asked and shrugged and said he'll cross that bridge if he comes to it. So there's a worry to take away with us .....

If I'm not back here for a day or two, I hope everyone keeps warm and well and all the animals are happy. :grouphug: to all.

Do hope all turns out well Andere, at least you know what symptoms to look for. Pleased puss has settled nicely. Forecast seems to be clearer for the weekend but be prepared. Had a little rain today but nothing heavy. A clear sky now which means colder during the night. Take care and keep warm. Hope everyone else is OK. cheers Penny
