Good evening, all from the pretty town of Machynlleth in Powys where we just arrived a couple of hours ago after a very scenic and colourful drive from Shropshire. The weather has been much better than we expected, so far although there was some serious rain yesterday morning for a while. OH is holding together OK at present but isn't sleeping very well so gets tired quickly. The new motor is behaving well and we're both beginning to love it although I stupidly tried to get into the wrong car on the hotel car park yesterday! It was identical and when the key fob didn't work, I put the key in the lock and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't turn. Happily, OH came out and asked why I preferred that one! Glad it wasn't the other car's owner  .
Hope everyone is ok and love to furry friends.

Hi Andere, so pleased all is ok and you are enjoying new vehicle. Do hope OH looks after himself. good to have weather better than expected. Getting in the wrong car, you were lucky it was empty, I did the same ,just got in and turned to hubby, only to find it wasn't,t him, it was a man eating a sandwich in Sainsbury' S car park. Felt so stupid. Continue to enjoy and take care. cheers Penny

Hi everyone - thought it'd make a change for me to be first! I wrote a long post in the pub last night but when I hit Submit, the board threw me out - that keeps happening for some reason. :tantrum2:
We're still in Wales and off to play with the trains on the Vale of Rheidol railway later on. Hope it keeps fine! OH is OK-ish but for the last two morni angs he's been really miserable with pains in his hip joints so with that and his cranky knees, I may end up pushing him around in a wheelbarrow! Yesterday, he took 2 Panadol and felt better enough to go to the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT), where you do a lot of walking, up hill and down dale, and he was OK but maybe this morning is payback time. CAT was really interesting; we'd gone especially to find out whatever we could about carbon-neutral houses and Passivhaus technology and managed to learn quite a lot, plus it's given us plenty of food for thought.

Re getting in the wrong vehicle - years ago, OH said he'd meet me off the train so I came out of the station and there was his white van, right outside, so I got in. I just had time to register a very surprised stranger in the driving seat when someone grabbed my arm and started screeching at me. What was I effin' doing, getting in their van? And get my asterisk backside outa there NOW! She virtually heaved me out and left me on the pavement mumbling "sorry" in a stunned sort of way. OH drove up as they left in a cloud of exhaust and couldn't quite grasp why I was so pleased to see him!

Have a nice day, all :)

You two (three) should be well away by now :butt: . That was an early start, no time to have used make-up etc. Let us know!

Trixie's sore, bald patches on her head, still looking sore now a fortnight after seeing vet, but looks non-infected. Poor little mite, being brave. I have to continue the good (steroid) work by resuming her pill-treatment today for two or three times a week. Hope she will take them.

Andere, I hope you will continue enjoying the week's travels and OH continue coping.

Sorry to hear that Trixie is suffering again, such irritations are so frustrating and causes so much pain :bighugs:
:rolleye11:
Hi Penny and all think the sun may be peeping through after continual rain, hope so. I shall be there with much enthusiasm tomorrow Penny but entertaining and getting on with the job without you also there is not a good idea, maybe better if I came a bit later, this will be no hardship for me in fact the opposite due to the fact of being a little saddle sore and in need of a shower I shall be recuperated and indeed be more active :rolleye11: Keep your chin up Penny :) and take care all :grouphug:

Well, I reckon Dita's probably spent the day in the beautician's parlour getting ready for tomorrow's assignation. We'll be going home tomorrow but it'd be too lengthy diversion to come and join the fun :(
We're now back in England, stopped for the night at a nice little pub/motel in the middle of nowhere near Stow on the Wold. Weather's been really lovely all the way so far but I think we can expect rain tomorrow...huh! We'l probably continue via the M40 and A41 so will wave and shout Yoohoo to Viv as we pass her environs :)
Poor little Trixie, I guess this superb autumn weather doesn't suit everyone. Purrs and nuzzles to her.
On a good note, OH having no problems with the hip now. I was also having pains and we think it was due to the plastic mattress protector on the beds making us perspire madly all night so we were lying on damp sheets - damp weather and high hmidity always makes my joints hurt so that sort of makes sense....
