I haven't been to the group for a while, until today where I was given this photo of my presentation taken by one of our members.

Ooops When I uploaded it to Tiny pic, it turned my picture on its side and I can't find out how to right it. You'll just have to practice your contortionist skills or stand your computer on your ironing board alongside your bed and lie down.

Finished this picture this afternoon; I have been attempting to paint loose and this is in the style of Joanne Boon Thomas. I don't think it's bad and am going to have another try with loose again and hope to improve.

On here, the colours are not showing very well as the top half of the picture is a very pale pink with darker pink patches running through.

Just finished another attempt at painting loose and I don't know how I feel about this one. I liked the other one but not sure about this. Nevertheless, I'll keep trying.
dita ............ more wet in wet background colours for you to relax with.

Thanks so much, dita, for this feedback and telling me that you like this one; it's difficult when you've created something to know if it's any good or not, so your remarks are really helpful. I plan to do it again but to improve on the actual flowers themselves as I can see where they can be painted better.

BTW - do you like the squiggles I put into the background with a candle or do you think I should leave them out next time?

Thanks again.xx

It was the art exhibition last Saturday and I put in 4 old ones and this new one. It is of Ashness Bridge in the Lake District and was painted in the style of Geoff Kersey.

dita ..... Do please keep trying and you'll improve with time like I have. Until six years ago, I more or less only did pencil drawings, most being portraits. I joined the art group and have improved quite bit and wish I'd started earlier.

Give it a go; it's very relaxing xxx

Dunno why I've only just spotted this but it's beautiful, Monika. Very evocative. I'm sitting in a warm room on a warm evening and yet I shivered as if I was standing in that snow. Well done, you.
