Reminds me of something that happened when I was quite a little girl just before the war started. There was a knock on the front door and my father went to open it. A chap stood there saying that he was willing to pay good money for antiques.
This was to my father, who had a devilish sense of humour, a lead for him to shout out to my mother who was in the kitchen "Mill! leave the washing up because there is a bloke here who wants to buy you." SHE WAS NOT AMUSED.
Her name was "Amelia" but he always called her "Millie or Mill."
Talking about antiques have any of the members got a photo of something that has been handed down through the family?
I would love to see some photos.
