For those who have expressed concern/interest, I'm pleased to report that Lucy Katt is home again and sleeping off her eventful morning.
Unfortunately, her problems aren't over as the vet was unable to insert a cannula into her tiny, tiny tear ducts - the practice just doesn't have a magnifying light sufficiently powerful. Rather than try to proceed without a proper view of what she was doing and risk causing damage to the delicate tissues, the vet conducted a thorough examination of both eyes while LK was still sedated, just to be sure there is no other visible cause for the symptoms. All she found was two healthy eyeballs.
So she brought Lucy round, sent her to recovery and called me to suggest that the puss is referred to a vet hospital in Derby where they have more powerful magnifiers and ophthalmic specialists. Once the people at Derby call me, we can make further arrangements.
Meantime, Her Maj is glad to be home, has had a hearty lunch and now sprawled on the carpet beside my chair. I guess it'll take a while longer before I'm going to be permitted lap snuggling privileges but she did ask me to say thanks to all for their good wishes.
