How do you leave it?

After a meal we turn a little sideways to allow the meal to digest. When you leave the table do you replace the chair facing into the table or leave looking sideways. cheers Penny :grouphug: :grouphug:

We sometimes move the chairs after a meal while we sit and chat but, when we get up to clear away, they're always put neatly back under the table. I can't stand colliding with untidy chairs!

Always put the chair back in.

If, as a child, you didn't your next meal would not appear, with the comment,"Oh, I thought you had not finished your last meal"!

The same comment would also cover failing to neatly put your knife and fork neatly together, failing to fold yout napkin and other such heinous crimes!

Funny how one memory revives another. Like If you don't finish your lunch there will be no pudding. Elbows off the table.. Do not speak with your mouthful. funny. cheers Penny

My Dad was a stickler for that one (quite rightly, in my view). As a teenager, I went on a first date with a potential new boyfriend. We went to see The Odd Couple which we both enjoyed, then he treated me to supper at the Angus Steak House and all prospect of any future relationship went out the window. He certainly had plenty to say for himself. Trouble was, he said all of it with a mouth full of half-chewed food. It was so off putting I couldn't finish my own meal. I never saw him again.

Mostly all that has been said rings a bell with me too, things are very different now, I could only eat at the table, no sitting watching the Tv, and it was un-heard of to even think of eating in the street.

Couldn't do that one Laurie, always wince when someone passes me with one of these coffee cups. Still takes all sorts. cheers Penny.

I was talking about us blokes, Penny. The ladies would only delicately take the odd chip between finger and thumb when they thought no-one was looking!

Laughed at your last remark Laurie. Must keep a look out. Long time since I saw any out door eater taking stuff delicately between finger and thumb.... Hope you are feeling OK today. cheers Penny.
