Such a long time

Postby Monika » Tue Apr 27, 2010 2:18 pm

My husband has been sorting some stuff in the attic and brought this picture down.

It was the second oil I had done and that was around 1965, or so. I haven't done any since, and have only drawn spasmodically.

This picture I took from a magazine advert for Pear's Soap and she was nominated Miss Pears (for a year in the 60's) and the reason I painted her was that I wanted do do the hat.

I may do some more, Rowan, as I am currently learning how to do water colours at classes. I've never worked with them before.

This has rekindled my interest and I've sorted out some more of my old drawings, most of which were done around 30 years ago. They are of Freddie Starr, a friend's daughter, David Bowie and Kirk Douglas.

I've photographed them by propping them up against my sofa back - so they are at a bit of a funny leant-back angle

They ARE good Monika - I really like the one of Kirk Douglas.
