Morning all, nice and sunny here, no rain so far. Hope all are well, Does anyone take Statins. I read some where that these tablets make some people ache. Gosh, today, I ache all over. Can't raise an interest in anything. Give doggie a big hug from Dita, tell her I need lots of same today. Just waiting for an oil delivery. Prepairing for winter. Hubby said quite a bit of difference in the price during the summer. Have a good day all, take care.cheers Penny

Hi Penny, I know a bit about Statins, I refused to take them, I already take Beta blockers and Amolodipine and a couple of years ago he wanted me to take them too, a couple of my friends had side effects, aching muscles in the legs is one of the most painful. I already have enough effects and decided not to take them. It does not always happen, some folk take them and they are fine, they can also be changed for another medication with the same ingredients and they can be ok too. I just decided not to have them. Big hugs from doggie, you sound like you need a big one :) xx

Hi, all. It's a little bit fresher here today, thank goodness, although it's getting very hot again.
I've never taken statins and would be reluctant to do so because the only thing I know of them is that several people have told me they give you the runs on a more-or-less-permanent basis.

Good planning with the oil delivery, Penny. With this climate, you'll probably need it next week, after all. Just make sure your tank is well secured, won't you? There was an outbreak in Essex last year of people getting supplies in early and then having their oil stolen while they were at work or on holiday. :tantrum2:

Thanks Andere, amazing what people will stoop to these day. Been very hot again here, sat all afternnoon resting these weary bones. Just going slightly cloudy but not much. Wondered if we were going to miss the rain. Just got a load of washing out of the dryer ( hard work this laundry ha ha ) Not had thisproblem with statins before but thought it might be because I am eating much less due to this weather. Never rains but what it pours. Anyway, take care all and have a lovely evening. Big hugs for doggie Dita. cheers Penny

Good morning Dita and all.

I am doggy sitting for my niece for a few days.
Off to the hospital this afternoon, trhey want to talk to me about after care when I come home from hospital after having two knee replacements. Booked for 6th August. Op on 7th. Getting a bit nervous but a little excited at the outcome. Hoping I will find a big benefit. Not looking forward to having those awful stockings on for 6 weeks and no driving for the same length of time.
All three of my daughters have offered to care for me until I am able to do things for myself.
In the mean time I am off for four days from Sunday to Clacton on Sea with my youngest daughter Lisa, and granddaughter Amelie aged 6 and great granddaughter Madison Aged 8. Weather looks very promising so should be fun.

Good luck with the knee replacements Mo, my cousin is waiting to have his 2nd one done at the moment, it has made all the difference, he is able to walk now. One thing Mo, you have a good caring family to look after you, very lucky. Enjoy your few days at Clacton.

Same from me. I think you are brave having both done at the same time. However, it will be worth it. Just do not be impatient to get going, cause more harm than good. You are very lucky to have such carers. All the best. Have a lovely break. cheers Penny

My cousin couldn't have both knees done at once, he's had to have the all clear from the specialist to make sure the healing is complete on the first one because of putting weight on it before properly healed would cause damage. God knows how Mo will manage having 2 done at once. I think it would be nearly impossible, but then, I must be wrong.

THank you all for your kind words.
.I don't think it's the usual procedure to have both knees done at the same time but when My twin Sis Dorrie was in hospital having one of her knees done a good few years back one of the patients in her ward had both knees done..(Bilateral Knee Replacement) also her neighbour has just had his done and they are fine. I would think it's going to be very difficult walking with crutches but the consultant suggested I had them done together as they are both as bad as each other.

Mo, I wish you all the best with the op and the recovery. I have heard of both being done at the same time. One person said it was difficult at the time but afterwards she was glad to have got it over with.

When my mother was in her late forties she had carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists at the same time, so she couldn't do much for a while. We were all surprised by the hospital's decision for that.
