Morning Dita and all, hope you enjoyed the walkies today. Lovely and sunny here for the longest day of the year. Just labelled and put away the chutney. You know who had to have some with cheese for his tea last night. Gave me a thumbs up. Trying to keep a straight face today, he got up and after his shower put on shirts and shorts. ( will let you know if he moves in them). take care and have plenty of rest. Hopefully, our phone and internet have been sorted now. Catch you later. cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all, great day here too this morning keep seeing few black clouds now, doesn't worry us because it was beautiful while doggie walking earlier. I so love your sense of humour Penny, waiting to hear any news if any, could make a few bob by opening up a betting office, what do you think :) Not had any problems with connection today, the guy who came to re-connect us was talking about his Grandmother who years ago lived in the village, makes you feel a bit ancient when you remember who they are taking about??. A chunk of cheese along with that chutney sounds tempting. Keep smiling Penny :) and take care all.

Well, I lost my bet Dita, he took some water to the birds bath and then managed up to his computer room. Been keeping them warm in the lounge since lunch, at present watching some WW2 film. Not my cup of tea.
Hope you are enjoying the sunshine. Looks like a musical night here, there is a summer ball in the grounds and manor house at the bottom of my garden. In aid of some charity. The chappie came and asked if we were going but as OH said, our legs aren't what they used to be. His two boys were delighted to see me, I always wave when they pass and today they each had a Mars Bar which I threw and they had to catch, Thought it was great fun. OH said next thing they will be joining the birds daily. Hadn't thought of that. Will have to draw the kitchen blinds during the day. ha ha. Have a great weekend. cheers Penny.

Think we've been bored with the same film today, was Christopher Plummer in it ? The musical charity night sounds fun Penny, it should be nice evening for it. Sorry about the bet he must have been listening in to our conversation :) never mind we'll win in the end. Can see there will be all the birdies, doggies and loads of children all waiting for a treat every morning, not to mention your young gardener. :) Have a great weekend Penny x

Hi, all. I'm back after a really lovely day - both in terms of weather and how it was spent. I've just put some pics and a video clip on the Photography thread for anyone who's interested.
Sorry about everyone's communication problems - Dita's tale really sums up why I absolutely won't have any dealings with BT. Incompetent fools!! And Penny, be glad your OH stays at home in shorts weather. Mine will insist on going out in them and, believe me, it's a sight nobody should be forced to witness!! :2guns: Personally, I'd ban anyone over the age of 25 from wearing them except maybe on the beach. Hope the blood test result is OK ...

Hi Penny, Andere and all, just a quickie before I nip off to look at your pics Andere pleased you had a great time. Do agree about providers but find BT lesser of evils, we have had several in the past and they are all the same in the end. Our doggie could certainly do with a hug today Penny she has had a bath which she quite likes, but cutting claws is another problem she screams blue murder and fights like a tiger, makes it very difficult because like this morning as she jerks around and makes movement just when snipping a claw it can mean catching the little vein as you clip accidently a shade too low. consequently blood all over the place and lots of sympathy and cleaning for the rest of the day. The only time OH has worn shorts is when we have been abroad years ago, thank goodness :) hope you are smiling Penny Ha Ha, take care Andere and all.

Hi Ditaandall, atlast able to get on here. Had a lot of problems again with internet. Funny, was able to use Huddle but not this one. Please give doggie a big extra hug from me, I do hope she is o.k now. Poor little one. Had a shock when eating breakfast, a squirrel popped up onto the window sill and sat there watching us eat. Will have to be careful not to leave any windows open. All over the place today. OH decided he wanted to eat late so has been dealing with his photo bag all morning, deciding which is the best pic. etc. Did our lunch at 3 p.m. which in fact worked out well as neither of us were that hungry today. Too warm. Have three large fans going at the moment. I think I overdid things yesterday, I ache all over today. Take care all and have a good Sunday. Clever Andere, superpics. cheers Penny

Hi Penny and all, I do hope you are not struggling with connection again Penny, I haven't tried to gain internet access on my Kindle mainly because I don't do very well with technical stuff, scared of messing up so you are a clever lass, I remember you getting your Huddle and trying to get crosswords on it look where you are now? and I've had my kindle 2yrs. Hope hubby got his pic sorted by now, cheeky little squirrel wants to live with you Penny that's the truth of it he knows what a soft touch you are. Hope your aches and pains easier today and don't forget to keep smiling :) Little doggie happier today now claws are shorter, they grow so quick and tend to curl inwards do try to get her on concrete to keep them down but it not work very well.
Take care Penny :) and all.

I'm starting to think you're right. We had an email last week from Virgin Media, our isp, to say they are sending us a new router to handle their new, upgraded fast broadband speeds and to please contact them to arrange a delivery date. OH arranged that they'd deliver tomorrow, Tuesday and confirmed there'd be someone here to sign for it. Yesterday, we had another email confirming that they'll be delivering on Sat 28th. OH then phoned them to say we'll be away then until mid-July and why isn't it being delivered on Tuesday as arranged? The reply? "Er... I don't know. So don't you want it?" Aaaaaaaaaaagh!! Eventually, they agreed to deliver on 19th July but, honestly, I'm not holding my breath!

It's very, very warm and muggy here. Occasional outbreaks of sunshine but mostly cloud and it's very energy-sapping. There's a few thunderstorms around and I wish we could have one to clear the air. Lucy K is very indolent and laid-back; she looks all floppy as if someone's removed all the bones! She does sympathise with Dolly about the claw-trimming. Every so often she gets taken to the vet to have hers done because they get too long to retract properly. It must be years of practice makes it look easy because he'll just idly pick up a paw, squeeze gently and make a soothing noise and out come the claws to be neatly trimmed as simply as my fingernails while she gazes adoringly at him! If I tried, I strongly suspect I'd have no hands or face left within seconds. Of course, there then has to be days and weeks of stropping the carpets, furniture and anything else forbidden to get the claws back to form again

Hope everyone's OK and not too many aches and pains around and that the hay-fever's not getting folk down too much. The pollen levels seem very high today. I had a major sneezing fit in the middle of Debenhams this morning and, the way other people reacted, I felt a little like a plague carrier and thought I'd get asked to leave at any moment!

We usually take Dolly to the vets where they take her out the back and stem her screams I think, Angie our vet used to say that she sensed the pain before the clippers went near her feet and so makes sure the job don't turn into reality. Sadly Angie has now left the practise after 12yrs. What you said about the folk in Debenhams thinking you got the plague really made me laugh Andere :roflmao: also the bit about L Katt and her lax body without bones :roflmao:

Penny that is so annoying getting cut off like that, so much time is spent thinking, writing etc. and if you try to repeat it, is almost impossible to remember word for word. :bighugs:
